If you have a party of 8 or more, it is common to add gratuity. If you're decent, you would give your server 20% unless they were awful (they aren't there this place is great) so really they aren't screwing their customers over. Also, "T.I.P.S." is to ENSURE proper service? I've never heard that and that would make it "teps". Get over yourselves. If you can't afford to tip well you shouldn't be going out to eat.
